Learning About Animated People
Humanity
in animation is represented by 3D (or HD) animation, a library of 3D animated
people based on real life situations. H3D animated people include many
popular characters including: President Obama, Sesame Street characters Big
Bird and Cookie Monster, Looney Tunes characters Bugs Bunny and Dora the
Explorer, as well as many others. 3D animated people can be used in television,
video games, online applications, advertising, cartoons and more. H3D animation
has been used in many different areas of entertainment, providing extraordinary
results with an extremely low cost or no cost production. H3D provides for a
realistic rendering of people and objects that could not be achieved by
traditional film and TV.
The birth of HID (high-dimensional
digital) technology paved the way towards creating animated people and objects.
HID technology uses light to create the illusion of moving images by projecting
light from cameras into a desired location. This technique is much better than
traditional film and TV methods for representing complex, moving subject
matter. HID (high-dimensional digital) technology allows for much greater depth
of field and far greater realism.
Motion capture animation is the most
popular form of HID motion capture technology. It is realistic, beautiful and
allows for great detail, but is also the most expensive method available. HID
motion capture animation uses camera sensors to record the movement; this
motion is then "cakes" baked onto the actual subject of the scene.
The baked onto process means that the animated people or objects appear
lifelike with high definition quality, even when the camera itself moves. HID
camera sensors can also detect a person's breathing, which could help reduce
blurring during playback.
One of the main characteristics of an
HID (high-dimensional digital) subject in motion capture animation is that it
will look as real as possible. This means that the face of the subject of the
scene will move and look as natural as possible, sometimes even more lifelike
than the subject itself. However, because this is an HID animation, some
details might be masked. For instance, a mouth might be made larger so that
they look more realistic, but it might not move as much as you would like it to.
To combat this, a good animator will have the subject move with realistic
velocity and blend in other soft features.
One of the most common feature animation
is the use of facial expressions. Many people are familiar with animated people
and animals in cartoons and movies. People are able to express themselves
through facial expressions in an animated manner, giving the subject a
realistic quality and a distinctive appearance. Because of this, a lot of
motion capture artists have a background in anthropomorphology in which they
study facial expression to better understand people.
A lot of artists are able to convey
emotions using facial expressions. Sometimes, these expressions are intended to
make a message or a thought clear. The eyes of an animated subject might be
crying, surprised, angry or frightened, depending on what the subject of the
shot is looking at. Another way that facial expressions can be used is to
simply emphasize a certain characteristic of the subject. If the subject is
small, then you would more likely see an upward-turned nose. If the subject is
large, then you might see a grimace or a hint of laughter.
One of the best examples of an animated
character is the little monkey in Disney's hit animated film Finding Nemo. The
cute little monkey makes a number of entertaining statements throughout the
film, sometimes through his squeaky voice. The audience might laugh or they
might not. It depends on what the character is trying to say. The majority of
people probably do not take any notice of the squeaky voice, but the character
is saying it anyway.
Animation has come a long way since the
very first primitive computer animation, where simple colors and simple shapes
were using to make people move. Nowadays, people have more elaborate backgrounds
with many colors and complex 3D effects to make people really feel like they
are in the scene. animated people help make scenes more entertaining and more
exciting to watch, especially for children who tend to get bored with the same
old things over again.
